About DEPA

Introducing the Downsend Epsom Parents Association (DEPA)

Who are DEPA?
DEPA is the catchy nickname for the Downsend Epsom Parents Association. We are a group of parents who love to bring a little magic and fun to the school, create events to build community amongst the parents and help support fundraising efforts for both for the school and external charities.

Practically, does DEPA do?
We organise fun activities including decorating the school for events such as Easter, Christmas, Charity mufti days, Annual Summer Fair and more. We also hold social get-togethers for parents and there's an active DEPA Dads group. Fundraising events are arranged to help support the school’s wish list which is annually updated. Previous donations have included revamped library, outdoor play equipment and new bicycles for the children.

How does DEPA work?
A core committee meets and coordinates activities throughout the year. Each school class nominates a Class Rep, who shares key information, reminders about activities & events with other parents in the class and is a point of contact for questions, feedback or ideas.

DEPA is currently run by Jennifer Dyne Chair.

How can I get involved?

If you would like to get involved, there are lots of ways to help. It doesn't have to be a big commitment or take a huge amount of time. DEPA is always looking for volunteers to help in running our activities and events. We'd love to see a few more friendly faces on our committee and everyone is invited to attend our meetings.
